Botox for Balls?
Botox is a dilute formulation of onabotulinumtoxinA, a neurotoxic protein that disrupts nerve signals in muscles. It has been used for over 20 years, both cosmetically and medically. Originally used to treat strabismus (crossed eyes), Botox is most well-known for its ability to smooth and soften facial wrinkles, particularly in the browline and forehead. So how do doctors use it in a Scrotox procedure?
Medical Indications for Botox

The Scrotum
The function of the scrotum is to protect the testes; the structures that produce sperm in a process known as spermatogenesis. The testes must be kept within a narrow temperature range to ensure these reproductive cells’ survival. If the testes were too hot, or too cold, a man’s sperm would not be viable. The testes are therefore cooler; 2 -3 °C lower than core body temperature. (2) However, depending on your genetics, age, and other factors, the way your scrotum looks could be very different from the next man. Although there is no general aesthetic standard for this area of the body, many men desire better-defined testicles. Changes in Scrotal Skin
The appearance of the scrotum changes for various reasons. A thin sheet of smooth muscle called the dartos plays an important role in scrotal thermoregulation. This fibroelastic tissue causes scrotal contraction and expansion to optimize the temperature of the testes. (3) But, as with all areas of the body, the scrotum is at the mercy of time and gravity. Over time, skin in every part of the body loses its integrity. Scrotoplasty
Lax skin in the scrotum can cause pain and discomfort. Many men opt for a scrotoplasty procedure to address these issues to regain lost freedom and confidence. Recovery & Results
As with any injectable treatment, there may be some tenderness and bruising at the injection sites. Immediately after your procedure, you may notice your scrotal skin behaves in an unusual way.
