Taking a look at his dating history, Leo has always had a preference for women in their early 20s, even as he inches closer to his 50th birthday.

This appeared to have changed in March 2022, when the actor seemed to have broken this “age limit” after reports of a budding relationship with Love Island UK host Maya Jama came to light.

The 48-year-old was photographed with the 28-year old in London and New York last month and, according to a source from The Sun are “in regular contact and have been on a string of dates”.

“They are taking things a day at a time. Leo has certainly been wooing her though, he loves spending time with her,” the source continued.

But that rumour fizzled out in a matter of months.

The Oscar-winner was then linked to Gigi Hadid, 28, in September 2022.

“He really likes that Gigi has her life together,” a source told People at the time. “She has a child and she’s mature. He wants to be with someone who has the same idea of good causes and political views like he does.”

The pair have been spotted enjoying a number of date nights out in New York in the following months, though Leo has been linked to other women in this time.

In January 2023, after Leo was linked to Victoria Lamas on NYE, a source claimed Gigi and Leo were not exclusive.

“Leo and Gigi have enjoyed their time together when they’re able to see each other, but when they’re busy with various commitments, they’re doing their own things and they are not exclusive,” a source told ET. “They have respect for one another and have always just been seeing where things go.”

After an on-off casual romance, the pair have both arrived at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Leo is there to promote his film, Killers of the Flower Moon, while Gigi walked the red carpet as a guest at the premiere of Firebrand (Le Jeu De La Reine).

The duo may well reunite at Cannes, with Entertainment Tonight’s source saying they “still hang out and talk when it works with their timing. They have fun together when their busy schedules permit.”

However, the actor was spotted with Gigi’s fried, 22-year-old model Meghan Roche on a boat off the coast of Ibiza. Whilst there is no news of the pair officially “dating,” many fans believe the chemistry between the pair is proof that he and Gigi aren’t together.

Meghan, who has modelled for a number of luxury brands including Ralph Lauren, Versace and Chanel has often been spotted with Gigi over the years. Fans have flooded her latest Instagram post following news of her and Leo – but many of them doubt the pairing, arguing she is in fact dating another man who was also spotted on the boat.

Amidst his casual romance with Gigi, Leo allegedly entered a relationship with 19-year old model, Eden Polani, in February 2023. The relationship was denied after the story went viral.

After they were photographed sitting shoulder-to-shoulder at an EP release party, fans immediately flocked to social media to express their outrage.

“Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend is so young her high school experience was interrupted by COVID 19,” one Twitter user wrote.

Despite speculation, an E! News source said, “Leo and Eden just so happen to have been seated next to each other at the party and were hanging in the same group.”

The Leonardi DiCaprio age-gap dating theory is nothing new, however. In his 20s he was linked to famous women like Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, but his preference for younger women became clear as he approached his 30s and beyond.

He dated supermodel Gisele Bundchen in the early 2000s and was famously with Bar Rafaeli until 2010, but split from both before they hit the age of 26.

Leo briefly dated Blake Lively when she was 23 and he was 36, then jumped to Erin Heatherton, who was 22, and was with Toni Garrin from 2013 to 2014, but they split when she was just 21 and he was 39.

More recently, Leo was linked to Kelly Rohrbach, who was 25 at the time, and Nina Agdal who was also 25 when they called it quits – Leo was 42.

The pattern gave rise to the theory that Leo has a dating “age cap” and refuses to date women over the age of 25, an idea many fans of the actor have dismissed as ridiculous.

But Camila turned 25 in June, just moths before she and Leo went their separate ways, only adding more fuel to the rumours.

While the actor has never commented on the controversial claims, his dating history seems to speak for itself.

“There’s no phenomenon on this planet more reliable than Leonardo DiCaprio breaking up with his girl by age 25, the stats are breathtaking,” one fan tweeted.

Another joked: “Not Leonardo DiCaprio once again breaking up with his girlfriend once they turned 25 and their brain fully developed.”
