Kathleen Peterson’s husband, Michael, called 911 at 2:40 a.m and reported that his wife was dead and her dead body was found at the bottom of their house’s staircase on December 8.

Michael told the police that he and Kathleen were spending the night together and said that later that night, he found her wife’s body at the bottom of the staircase.

During the investigation, th detective suspected something odd in her death case because the amount of blood in the pool at the crime scene was significant.

Detective’s first suspect was her husband, who had spent the whole night with his wife and later claimed that he found her dead at the staircase.

A forensic report was released, which concluded that seven deep cuts alongside bruises were found on her face.

After her death, the case was taken to court as the forensic report, and her husband’s claim didn’t match at all.

During the court’s proceedings, the prosecutor told the Jury that Kathleen was smacked at the back of her head. This caused her to die, and Michael is the one who did it.

As the Jury proceeded in the case, Michael’s lawyer addressed that his wife, Kathleen drank wine and Valium, which caused her to get dizzy and fall off the stairs. While investigating the culprit, another theory was proposed by Michael’s neighbors.

His neighbors claimed that the cause of Kathleen’s death was an attack from Owl. They said that an Owl might have attacked her at night while she was near the staircase.

The prosecutor said Michael’s wife caught him with another man. Michael was a homo, and his wife caught 2,000 private photos of men and a male escort on Michael’s email while she searched his computer.

The prosecutor said that his wife had found out about his bis*xuality, and Michael killed her for knowing about it.

Who Killed Kathleen Peterson?

In the end, all evidence shown in the case concluded that Michael Peterson had killed his wife, Kathleen Peterson. He was sentenced to life in prison in October 2003.

In 2011, he was given a chance for a new trial, but she took an Alford plea. This helped him prevent going through the court process, and he was discharged on “time served.”
