Joey Jones born on July 21, 1986, in Dalton, Georgia, United States, is the son of Joseph Edgar Jones and Joyce Marie Jones. His father was a brick mason, while his mom was a stay-at-home wife. He had a sister, Marsha Jones Dalton, who was adopted when she was seven but to whom he is nonetheless very close.

Joey Jones attended Southeast Whitfield High school in Dalton, where he played football and ran track and field.
