This round earthen home has all the features we’ve come to know and love about Hobbit Homes: a round wooden entry door, stone walls, a natural wood beam ceiling, partially underground, and a simple earthy style that seems straight out of LOTR. And to add to these unique features, this one also has a temperature-insulating living roof and the lovely smell of Western Red Cedar, which is used throughout the home. It also has a queen Murphy bed, stained glass windows, a wood burning fireplace, and a sink with running water. This one would be perfect for that creative, imaginative couple!
Important to note: This is an elevated glamping experience with no electricity or wifi, although the owners state you can walk up the hill to the main house to access wifi if needed (it’s always nice to know that’s available in case of emergency). There is no refrigerator but the owners do provide a Yeti cooler for storing food. There is a propane gas grill and a Colemon propane camping stove you can use for cooking. There’s also an on-demand hot shower and toilet outside.
I love all of that stone and woodwork surrounding the outdoor shower and toilet. An outdoor toilet, now that’s something I didn’t know I needed to add to my Bucket List!

-“Roy & Stella’s Hobbit House is absolutely magical. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are amazing. I’ve been to Hobbiton in New Zealand & this place blows it out of the water! They have thought of everything from lighting, to fans to charging stations to ensure their guests have a comfortable stay. Even in the heart of July, the home stays cool with a beautiful breeze flowing through the stunning picture window looking out to nature. My husband has greeted by a flock of butterflies as he took an outdoor shower & we woke to the sounds of the birds chirping. If looking for a once in a lifetime glamping experience, this is it!”
-“This is not just a stay, this is a special experience. You don’t even have to be a Lord of the Rings geek like my husband to enjoy it. From the moment we met Roy and Stella their kindness and passion for the world they have created was apparent. They have gone above and beyond to transport their guests to the Shire. (Luckily without any murderous Orcs or haunting Nazgul.) Roy started our stay off with a fantastic introduction to the Hobbit House. Stella made us feel at home with her attention to detail and the sweetest welcoming letter my husband plans to frame. The place is gorgeous and quiet. There’s also an awe-inspiring garden filled with exotic plants, and trails for wandering. I have traveled all over the world and this is perhaps the most unique home I have had the chance to stay in. I can’t wait to visit again and be transported back to Middle-earth.”
