In yet another Florida man news, a Florida-based man reportedly broke in a home, made coffee for himself, went on to take a bath and got arrested after he slept in the home owner’s bedroom. The accused’s strange ‘staycation’ was brought to the fore after the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office issued a release regarding his arrest. The accused was identified as 29-year-old Zachary Seth Murdock.
The cheeky release by the Escambia County Sherrif was shared on Facebook. “The suspect had smashed the glass on the porch door, entered the unoccupied vacation rental, used the bathtub, slept in the bedroom, made himself a nice cup of coffee in a mug (which he left on the back porch), and filled the kitchen trashcan with trash (including his bus ticket stub),” the release read.
“Let’s just say he was not the type of criminal to try to cover his tracks and was identified as Zachary Seth Murdock,” the release further read. As per reports, the deputies responded to a burglary related alert at an unoccupied vacation rental property earlier on Tuesday.
The accused was arrested not long after the call was made, and was arrested for burglary and property damage, in a case that was called “the incorrect way to vacay”.
Earlier in 2021, a Thai burglar had fallen asleep while committing a robbery.
The Facts of the Matter
Imagine your house broken into by an unknown. You see shards of glass window and panic for the valuables that may have been stolen. However, to your surprise, not only did the accuse not steal any valuables, but just took a nap and had a cup of nice coffee.
Surprising, isn’t it?

Florida Cops Issues Cheeky Status
Well, something similar recently happened earlier last week in Escambia County in Florida. The matter was brought to the fore after the Escambia County Sherrif issued a cheeky status on Facebook, detailing the accused’s strange break in attempt.
Accused was “looking for Tony”
The deputies of the Escambia County received a burglary related alert associated with a vacation rental property. The victim of the incident said she spotted a man in dark coloured shirt, a ball cap, sliding the glass door and trying to pull the handle. When she asked what he was up to, the accused simply said, “he was looking for Tony”.

Making Coffee, Taking Bath and Nap
Detailing the accused’s weird staycation experience, the Escambia County said, “The suspect had smashed the glass on the porch door, entered the unoccupied vacation rental, used the bathtub, slept in the bedroom, made himself a nice cup of coffee in a mug (which he left on the back porch), and filled the kitchen trashcan with trash (including his bus ticket stub).”
Making a cheeky response to the accused’s not-so-smart way of covering tracks, the County further said, “Let’s just say he was not the type of criminal to try to cover his tracks and was identified as Zachary Seth Murdock”.

How the Accused was Arrested
While the accused fled the first scene of crime, the cops found traces that helped them piece together a path to follow in order to nab him. Before that, they received another burglary related alert from a different home, and the accused was arrested shortly after, on charges of burglary and property damage.
